Skip the city-wide sprint. Choose an area that gives you food, a view and somewhere to stay after sunset.
Give one neighborhood the afternoon.
Estrela is a garden, a good lunch and streets worth walking without a reason. Graça gives you the hill, the view and small cafés that make stopping feel like part of the plan.
Use the river when you want a change.
Alcântara trades steep streets for old warehouses, newer galleries and somewhere to eat by the water. It works best as its own chapter, not a box squeezed between two landmarks.
Leave the queue when it stops being fun.
Lisbon has enough bakeries, tascas and viewpoints that the famous one is rarely your only chance. If the line feels like the experience, walk another block and start again.
