Slow day

Build a Chicago lake day that ends somewhere warm.

The lake is the plan. Food before and after keeps it a good one.

Coffee, a long stretch by the water and a neighborhood table waiting when the weather changes its mind.

01

Eat before you need to.

A lake day goes wrong when everyone gets hungry at once and the closest option becomes the plan. Start with coffee and something real to eat. Put one dinner idea in your pocket for later.

02

Do less distance than the map suggests.

The shoreline makes every long walk look reasonable. Pick a stretch, not a personal challenge. The useful plan leaves enough energy to enjoy the neighborhood you return to.

03

Have a weather exit.

Chicago can change the terms quickly. A nearby bar, old favorite or warm kitchen is not a backup plan; it is the second half of the day.
